Conference Registration Steps

  1. Membership Payment

    • Ensure your 2025-2026 (or 2026-2027) membership is up to date by submitting your membership dues.

  2. Conference Registration

    • Complete your conference registration by following the payment instructions. If you’re not ready to purchase your ticket right now, please request a registration extension by emailing conference@ablackcoalition.org. Include your estimated number of delegates and your anticipated timeframe for purchasing tickets.

  3. Final Delegation List Submission (For Groups)

    • If registering as a group, please use the provided Final Delegation List Template to submit the names of all delegates in your group no later than Friday, November 28, 2025.

  4. Lodging Payment

    • Secure Hotel Accommodations no later than Friday, December 5, 2025.

  5. Black Power Writing Prompt

    • Complete and submit your Black Power Writing Prompt no later than Friday, December 12, 2025.

conference eligibility:

All 2026 conference attendees must be delegates of a member organization unless otherwise stated by an ABC team member via email. As of August 2024, the following campuses are member organizations of the Afrikan Black Coalition: Sonoma State University; CSU Chico; Sacramento State; UC Davis; UC Berkeley; CSU East Bay; San Francisco State University; San José State University; CSU Monterey Bay; Cal Poly San Luis Obispo; UC Santa Barbara; UC Merced; CSU Fresno; CSU Northridge; CSU Los Angeles; CSU Long Beach; CSU Dominguez Hills; UC Los Angeles; CSU Fullerton; UC Irvine; Cal Poly Pomona; UC Riverside; CSU San Bernardino; San Diego State University; UC San Diego; and University of Nevada, Las Vegas. If your campus isn’t listed, please purchase a membership here or add the essentials membership package to your conference tickets cart here. All ticket purchases will be cross-verified and refunded to non-members. Exceptions can be made for out-of-state organizations. Please email operations@ablackcoalition.org to verify eligibility prior to purchasing tickets.

Event Tickets:

Priority registration for our 2026 conference closes Friday, October 24, 2025 at 5PM. To request a registration extension, please email conference@ablackcoalition.org with your estimated delegates and estimated timeframe to purchase tickets.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

Lodging for #ABC2k26 will be released at a later date. For planning purposes, all 2026 conference attendees should expect to budget $200-$230 per night for lodging. Attendees must secure lodging with our host hotel no later than Friday, December 5th. A 7-day extension (Friday, December 12th) can be made upon request. However, once room blocks are filled or the extended deadline has passed, you are responsible for securing your hotel arrangements. No exceptions.

Black power writing prompt (BPWP):

At the Chairs Retreat that took place August 10-12, 2018, the Afrikan Black Coalition Central Committee, comprised of all member-campus Presidents, unanimously decided to have a reading and response requirement for all Afrikan Black Coalition Conference attendees that year and in the future. The deadline to submit your BPWP is Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PST). We encourage all delegations to leverage the BPWP during their initial conference outreach or application process. Details regarding the 2026 BPWP will be released at a late date.

Annual MEMBERSHIP:

Student organizations interested in becoming member organizations with ABC, regardless of location, can visit our membership page to view member benefits and packages that align with their organizational needs. Membership for the 25-26 academic year is due June 1, 2026, and can be purchased here at any time. If you have not purchased membership for the 25-26 academic year and you’re not attending the conference, any membership purchased before December 31, 2025, will go towards the 25-26 academic year.

DRESS CODE:

All 2025 conference attendees should prepare to bring, at minimum, the following items: campus and/or BSU gear (rep your campus or organization), professional attire, and evening formal attire.

CONFERENCE arrival/departure:

All 2024 conference attendees should prepare to arrive on January 16, 2025, between 6-7 PM on campus to check in for conference registration. Then, delegations should check in at their hotel. After hotel check-in, delegations should prepare to attend our first evening event, located off campus. On Monday, January 19, 2025, delegations should prepare to depart after our Day of Service event at 2p.m. Day of Service projects are held off campus. Want to host our 2027 conference?

Organizations interested in hosting our 2027 conference must be active member organizations and must submit a conference bid proposal to oed@ablackcoalition.org no later than Friday, January 2, 2026. Ideally, we would like to announce our 2027 campus host during our 2026 conference. Bid proposal guidelines can be found here.

ABC COVID-19 POLICY:

ABC has taken health and safety measures for attendees and staff attending the ABC Conference. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Participation at the ABC Conference brings some risk, and all participants must assume responsibility for their own well-being. All participants must follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance and all posted instructions while attending ABC events and activities. Read full guidelines and protocols here.
